 RHAPSODY / Nouvel album "Ascending To Infinity" - Sortie le 22 juin 2012 chez Nuclear Blast !

Depuis la sortie de l’album « Legendary Tales » en 1997, le guitariste italien Luca Turilli a toujours impressionné par sa vision grandiose du heavy metal. A travers la désormais fameuse saga entamée en 1998 sur  l’album « Symphony of Enchanted  Lands » Luca et Rhapsody ont souvent repoussé les limites du « metal symphonique »,  au point de créer un style : le « Hollywood metal » !

Très largement inspiré par les musiques de films – Luca n’a jamais caché son admiration pour des compositeurs tels que Hans Zimmer ou Danny Elfman – les compositions du groupe ont toujours été d’une richesse rare.  Cette passion a même conduit Rhapsody à collaborer avec Sir Christopher Lee,  le légendaire acteur ayant accepté d’être le narrateur de la saga « Dark Secret ».
 
Après 15 ans de carrière, 10 albums et plus d’un million et demi de disques vendus, Luca Turilli – séparé depuis l’an passé de son partenaire Alex Staropoli – a décidé de donner un nouvel élan à son groupe en annonçant à la fois la sortie d’un nouvel album et la création d’un nouveau style qui parle de lui-même : le Cinematic Metal !
 
Toujours plus épique, en 2012 le power/speed metal de Luca Turilli’s Rhapsody entre dans une nouvelle dimension !
 
Toujours allié aux musiciens français Dominique Leurquin (guitare) et Patrice Guers (basse), Luca a trouvé en la personne d’Alessandro Conti le chanteur idéal pour faire de cet « Ascending To Infinity » une réussite totale. C'est le batteur Alex Landenburg (Annihilator, Stratovarius) qui complète ce bel ensemble.
 
Mixé par Sebastian Roeder « Ascending To Infinity » montre que le cinéma est vraiment au cœur des compositions et de l'univers de Rhapsody!

"As you may or may not know the new AGE OF CONSENT re-issue has just come out on STEAMHAMMER SPV, and we have put together the first video from it. The track we completed is PERFECT MANSIONS (Mountains Of The Sun). It is not a huge massive budget production. It is more of a simple home movie type experience. It was shot just a few weeks ago, by our longtime friend and engineer Ed Warrin, with one camera in several locations. I then spent several days learning how to edit. We have come up with something that I believe represents the attitude and the feeling of what the Group is all about. It has a strong live energy about it, possibly because it was shot just a few days after we returned from our latest European performances. It is a kind of guide or overture to the VIRGIN STEELE Experience, as it has all the various Barbaric-Romantic elements that you've come to know & expect from us over the years. There is a really nice ambiance about the clip. It captures a very specific mood and moment in time, and shows a nice part of our Island where we live...I hope you will enjoy it"
