SABATON and the massively popular MMO game World of Tanks have collided to forge a new genre: Tank Metal.

The band’s love of history, which blasts through in their music, reviving dramatic, historical events made them a perfect match for the historical tank warfare game developed by Wargaming. Both communities have a love of history and are proud that their players are bursting with musical creativity and passion.

SABATON collaborated with World of Tanks to put a new spin on the band’s awesome song 'Primo Victoria'. The tune is an iconic song from the studio album released in 2005, which is loved by the fans all over the world.

When Wargaming discovered that SABATON were players of the game, they couldn’t wait to collaborate with the band and ultimately created a music video that encapsulates World of Tanks’ drive and style.

Directed by famous German music video and commercial director Zoran Bihac, the creative genius behind videos including 'Mein Herz Brennt' (RAMMSTEIN), 'Eat you Alive' (EMIGRATE), and 'Praise Abort' (LINDEMANN), the video features the song 'Primo Victoria' and focuses on all the emotions felt during a heroic tank battle.

“Understanding the setting of World of Tanks, I can easily say that this game is about history and its importance, but to be honest: also about fun,” said Zoran Bihac, on the new music video. “It awakens the inner-child in you; it’s how I feel about my work, and it resonates with SABATON’s style. I wanted to keep the feeling of the game, and especially of their trailers, which look like real, historically accurate movies. This had to be combined with the song and our performance. To create a story, I came up with the setting of a normal performance video, where the tanks come alive, and start to hunt and shoot each other.”

A number of the shots for the tanks were filmed in Arsenalen Tank Museum, Strängnäs, Sweden. The action scenes were shot on a military base in Belarus, where the band got a totally new experience of riding in actual WW2 tanks. The wall destruction scene was shot on the first take with a Panzer III actually crashing through the wall, with Pär Sundström on board.

“Working closely with talented musicians like SABATON was an awesome experience for us,” said Maxim Chuvalov, World of Tanks marketing director. “One of the challenges we faced was that the band was constantly on tour, preforming shows all over the world almost every day. We had to find a slot in their tight schedule to bring the idea to life. Thankfully, the guys were very energetic and flexible, as well as really hardworking, so the project took shape. We’re really proud to have such talented musicians in our community and super excited to present the Tank Metal video to our fans.”

Fans can expect more Tank Metal coming to World of Tanks. On August 17th, the first ever music tank, the Strv 81 Primo Victoria, will be available in the game with some cool camo and unique features like a SABATON crew with the captain’s VO, Band of Brothers perk, and more.

     Grâce à « Under Cöver », la plupart des reprises enregistrées par Motörhead tout au long de sa prolifique carrière sont enfin réunies sur un seul et même disque ! Certaines sont connues, d’autres beaucoup moins, alors que leur version cosmique du « Heroes » de David Bowie était restée inédite jusqu’à ce jour…

  ONE THING Lemmy Kilmister, Phil Campbell and Mikkey Dee liked to do over their years together in Motörhead, was grab a favourite song by another artist and give it a good old fashioned ‘Motörheading’. To run them through the Motörizer if you will. To rock them, roll them and even give them an extra twist and edge.

In celebration of some of those finest moments, the band will release "Under Cöver", a collection of some of their best covers, and a collection which will include the previously unreleased version of David Bowie’s timeless classic “Heroes”. Recorded during the Bad Magic sessions in 2015 by Cameron Webb, and was one of the last songs the band recorded together.

“It’s such a great Bowie song, one of his best, and I could only see great things coming out of it from us, and so it proved to be,” says Phil Campbell, “and Lemmy ended up loving our version.”

“He was very, very proud of it,” says Mikkey Dee, “not only because it turned out so well but because it was fun! Which is what projects like this should be – fun!”

To that ethic, the rest of the album contains loud and proud, raucous and raging Rock ‘N’ Roll takes on the likes of “God Save The Queen” (Sex Pistols), “Cat Scratch Fever” (Ted Nugent), “Rockaway Beach,” (The Ramones), Breaking The Law” (Judas Priest) and “Whiplash” (Metallica) which earned the band a Grammy in 2005 for Best Metal Performance.

“We were happy with them at the time and we’re happy with them now!” affirms Campbell, whilst Dee says, “We should remember that it’s about having some fun with songs that we all loved.”

  MONTE PITTMAN “Inverted Grasp Of Balance”: Chronique / French Review

    Having released his new album, "Inverted Grasp of Balance", last year via Metal Blade Records, Monte Pittman is now launching a performance video for the album track "Obliterated", featuring drummer Richard Christy and bassist Billy Sheehan (both of whom played on the album). 

There are great guitarists, great vocalists and great songwriters, but Monte Pittman is one of the elite few who can truly lay claim to all three titles.

With his fourth full-length, "Inverted Grasp of Balance", he has once again raised the stakes, delivering a riveting collection of full force metal that showcases his continuing evolution, undoubtedly expanding his devout - and ravenous - fan base.

The record also features powerhouse drummer Richard Christy of Charred Walls Of The Damned/Iced Earth/Death fame and virtuoso bassist Billy Sheehan, famous for his work with a plethora of talented artists - including David Lee Roth, Mr. Big and, more recently, Winery Dogs.

What can a swedish Rock n Roll band do when they have a day off during their tour? Aftershowparty the whole day long? Visiting the local library to get some inspiration for new songs from classic books? NO - let's just hire a DeLorean, a Tattoo model and somebody who can film the whole stuff and let's do a new video! Sounds funny... but exactly that happend here... the result will be released today. Well done boys! :)

The band about the video: "The idea for this video was to do something 80s Miami Vice & Sugar Daddy Style with the world famous DeLorean - best known from the "Back to the Future" Films with Michael J. Fox. Frontman Jarmo should look totally different from all the other videos the band has done in the last years... silly posing, dancing and performing funny stuff. Director Dirk Behlau found an old lost place in Düsseldorf, Germany and the video was shot in late october 2016 with alternative model Femke Fatale from Belgium. The DeLorean is owned by DMXFrenkie from Holland since the 90s. He also brought the Marty McFly cap Jarmo is wearing tin the video. It was a lot of laughing involved during the takes... lots of takes where for example neccessary for the opening take because Jarmo or/and Femke were laughing out loud a lot because of all its ludicrousness. The fun part is when drummer Jocke (who also plays guitar in Axenstar) is taking over the guitar solo and Femke Fatale switches over to him because his style is probably more "interesting" than the Sugar Daddy one... anyway: This was a blast!"

"SILVER"

nouvel album

Le 13 janvier prochain, GOTTHARD va fêter ses 25 ans de carrière en sortant « Silver », son 12ème album studio !

25 ans que le n°1 des groupes suisses enchante nos oreilles avec son hard rock mélodique… Souvent comparé à Deep Purple, Whitesnake, Foreigner voire Bryan Adams (excusez du peu), au fil des années, des disques tous certifiés or ou platine, et de longues tournées internationales, le groupe de Lugano a réussi à peaufiner son profil de formation à la fois énergique et classieuse.

Désormais allié au chanteur Nic Maeder (qui a succédé à Steve Lee, tragiquement disparu en 2010), le guitariste Léo Léoni dompte ses guitares avec le métier qu’on lui connaît. Son remarquable touché de briscard plane sur l’ensemble de ce nouvel album. Sur les titres les plus dynamiques bien sûr comme « Silver River » ou le bien nommé « Electrified », mais aussi sur de sublimes mid-tempo comme « Stay With me », le premier single dont vous pouvez découvrir le magnifique clip vidéo.

Regardez Léo armé de sa Les Paul noire dans la cour du château de Weissenstein, - là même où a été filmé Les 3 Mousquetaires avec Orlando Bloom – nous terrasser avec l’un de ses solos toujours aussi bien sentis. « Silver » est truffé de telles interventions de guitares, partagées avec Freddy Scherer l’autre « six stringer » de la bande. C’est clair ce duo sait parfaitement conjuguer ses riffs électriques à des saveurs parfois plus acoustiques.

L'autre atout GOTTHARD et de « Silver » est sans aucun doute la voix profonde de Nic qui s’impose définitivement sur l’ensemble de ses compositions indéniablement estampillées « classic rock », grâce au soutien d’une structure basse/batterie inébranlable, fruit de 25 ans de complicité entre Marc Lynn et Hena Habegger.

« Silver » est plus qu’un disque anniversaire, aussi précieux que le métal dans lequel il est coulé, cet album représente 25 ans d’une carrière exemplaire qui ne semble pas prête de s’arrêter en si bon chemin…

GOTTHARD to release "Silver" album in january 2017

Swiss hard rock veterans GOTTHARD will release their twelfth studio album, "Silver", on January 13, 2017 on Musikvertrieb in Switzerland and internationally via PIAS. The CD was recorded at the Yellow House Studio in Lugano. The third disc with lead singer Nic Maeder was produced by Charlie Bauerfeind (HELLOWEEN, BLIND GUARDIAN) and Leo Leoni.

Says the band: "There's reason to celebrate! 25 years of GOTTHARD mean that we've left Paper, Leather, Wood, Crystal and China behind us, and can properly drink to the Silver wedding.

"A quarter of a century of band history is a decent anniversary and appropriately moulded into 'Silver'.

"Three months before the official release on January 13th, it's clear that we should pick the little black dress up from the dry cleaners and iron the good shirt, because dressing up for 'Silver' is only fair as the record sports quite a fancy look as well!"

As previously reported, GOTTHARD's new single, "Stay With Me", will be released on November 18.

"We were all very happy with the workflow and the result of the 'BANG!' production — so it was pretty clear that we wanted to give the great collaboration another shot!" GOTTHARD stated about working with Bauerfeind again.

Immediately after the new GOTTHARD album's release, the band will kick off the "25th Anniversary" European tour in Ravensburg with support from Danish hard rockers PRETTY MAIDS.

GOTTHARD's 2012 album, "Firebirth", marked the band's first release with singer Nic Maeder, who was born in Lausanne, Switzerland, lived in Melbourne, Australia and grew up between Switzerland and "Down Under."

GOTTHARD's previous vocalist, Steve Lee, was killed on October 5, 2010 in what has been described as a freak road accident in Nevada.

The story behind the lyrics of "Shiroyama":

It's the nature of time and history that the old ways must give in to the new ways and the modern age. The battle of Shiroyama in 1877 marks the end of an era and is the last stand of the legendary Samurai. Led by Saigo Takamori, the Samurai was down to 500 warriors at the end of the rebellion when they made their last stand on Mount Shiroyama. At the end of the battle there were only 40 samurai left. They drew their swords and plunged downhill toward the enemy positions until the last of them was mowed down.

Formé à l'origine dans les années 70 par Rickey Medlocke, à travers cette nouvelle incarnation, BLACKFOOT perpétue la grande tradition du Southern Rock !

Blackfoot, le groupe de rock sudiste américain formé dans les années 1970 par l’actuel guitariste de Lynyrd Skynyrd, Rickey Medlocke, est donc de retour avec un nouveau line-up et sortira un nouvel album, « Southern Native », le 5 août prochain sur Loud & Proud Records. Il aura fallu près de deux ans à Medlocke pour composer, enregistrer et produire cette nouvelle galette.

Blackfoot a toujours été perçu comme le plus « hard rock » des groupes « sudistes », notamment grâce au succès de titres légendaires tels que « Train, Train », « Highway Song » ou « Good Morning ». En France, on se souvient aussi des glorieux concerts du groupe en 1ère partie d’Iron Maiden ou Scorpions !

En 2012, le toujours robuste Rickey Medlocke, a donc décidé de recruter un nouvel ensemble de musiciens afin de faire renaître son groupe de toujours. Basé à Jacksonville, sa ville natale, Blackfoot se compose désormais des guitaristes/chanteurs Tim Rossi et Rick Krasowski, du bassiste Brian Carpenter et du batteur Matt Anastasi. C’est ce quatuor que Medlocke a désigné pour reprendre le flambeau là où l’avait laissé dans les années 90.

Mieux que de beaux discours les meilleures preuves de ce fier héritage se retrouvent dans les morceaux qui composent « Southern Native ».

De la chanson titre en passant par « Take Me Home » et même dans « Ohio », la reprise de Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, l’on sent que la puissante identité de Blackfoot est belle est vivante. Une force ancrée dans le sud des Etats-Unis qui l'est impossible de renier et que les musiciens n’ont pas manqué de développer ces dernières années en tournant de manière incessante avant d’entrer en studio pour écrire ce nouveau chapitre de l'histoire d’un groupe mythique…

Kentucky rockers BLACK STONE CHERRY will release their fifth studio album, "Kentucky", on April 1, 2016 via Mascot Label Group.

The band recorded the effort at Barrick Recording in Glasgow, Kentucky.

Taking a "back-to-the-roots" approach, the CD was produced in the same way and same place as BLACK STONE CHERRY's eponymous debut album, which broke the band out of the small southern backwater and onto the world stage.
